Curls, fluff and the eyes in the middle
With a name like Fluffsome, we take curls seriously. A good doodle portrait keeps the texture of the coat: the loose curls on a goldendoodle, the tight waves on a cavapoo, the wavy ears on a bernedoodle. The portrait keeps that texture instead of smoothing it into a flat shape.
The tricky part is the eyes. On many doodles they disappear into the fluff, especially a few weeks after the last grooming. In a photo, dark eyes in dark curls can look like no eyes at all. We need to see them to get them right in the portrait.
photo tips for doodles
Take the photo in daylight, near a window, at your dog's eye level. Hold a treat just above the lens so they look up and the eyes catch the light. If the fringe covers the eyes, brush it aside for a second, or use a photo from just after grooming. Burst mode helps. More in our photo guide.
Goldendoodle, bernedoodle, cavapoo and friends

Questions
My doodle's eyes are hidden in the fur. Can you still make a portrait?
Yes, if at least one photo shows the eyes. Brush the fringe aside or use a photo from right after grooming. You can send more than one photo and tell us which one shows the face best.
Will the curls show on the rug?
The portrait keeps the curly texture of the coat, and you see exactly how it looks in the free preview before anything is made.
My doodle looks different after every haircut. Which photo should I use?
The look you love most. Some people choose the fluffy "before" look, some the neat "after". It is your call, and you can ask us to adjust the preview.
How do I clean doodle hair off the rug?
Vacuum it regularly. For spots, use cool water and mild soap, then let it air-dry flat. No bleach, no ironing, no hot dryer.
